Good Neighbors

At Pepperell UMC we are so glad that God has made us neighbors to all those who live in the Mill Village. In the fellowship hall of the church hangs a really beautiful, hand made quilt that shows an ariel view of the Mill Village many years ago. Written in on each house is the last name of the family that used to live there. Each time I see the quilt I have 2 thoughts -

1. How beautiful to celebrate & remember a time when the church and broader community knew and cared for each other so well!

2. What would it look like for us to, once again, live well as neighbors together? To know and care for one another and to be able to say honestly, "We're so glad God has made us neighbors together in this time and this place."

This summer Pepperell UMC welcomes eight young adults who are living and serving in and around Opelika as a part of the QuadW Missional Internship. One of the things the interns have one their heart is to help us to create space where we can get to know one another and celebrate the life we've been given together in the Mill Village.

One of the ways we're doing that is by having a night of family fun at Shady Park on Friday, June 24th beginning at 7PM. There'll be food and fun! And we'll be showing a movie (Zootopia) closer to 8 (when it's getting dark).
